This manuscript examines the history of PEA and its place in Australasia, and reports on outcomes from the main Australasian CTEPH expert centre. It provides a summary of up‐to‐date guidance on how PEA should be utilised in the overall management of these patients and describes opportunities and challenges for the future diagnosis and management of this disease, particularly in the Australasian setting.
