Zusammenfassung:A new technique was developed to determine the fiber content of composites using a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA). The optimum condition for the TGA technique was predicted from various isothermal and dynamic scans, and the decomposition behavior of epoxy composites reinforced with glass and carbon fiber was analyzed. The results of the TGA method showed good agreement with those obtained by conventional methods such as standard digestion and ignition loss.
