Zusammenfassung: | Claudia Sommer, Professor of Neurology at the University Hospital of Würzburg, Germany, and co-director of ResolvePain, a clinical research pain consortium, leads a large group of researchers focusing predominately on pain, but also on neuropathies and autoantibody-associated disorders. Remaining in Germany, she studied at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, with a final year at the Westminster Hospital Medical School in London, UK (now merged with Imperial College School of Medicine). After her training and neurology residency, while at the 1990 Congress of the Peripheral Nerve Association (now the Peripheral Nerve Society) in Oxford, UK, Sommer accepted a postdoctoral position in pain research with the late Robert Myers at the University of California San Diego (CA, USA). |
