(April 6 issue) 1 provides evidence that supports the use of thrombectomy for large ischemic strokes. The protocol mentions an assessment of collateral vessels at baseline, 2 but the authors do not provide this information. In a meta-analysis, good collateral status was significantly associated with functional independence. 3 It is possible that the collateral status at baseline could have influenced outcomes in the current trial.
