Zusammenfassung:Treatment of 2,2 ′-bis(aroylphenoxy)biphenyls with arenedicarbonyl chloride in the presence of AlCl 3 afforded the corresponding wholly aromatic polyketones. Among three acyl-acceptant monomers screened, 2,2 ′-bis(4-benzoylphenoxy)biphenyl ( 2a) is the most efficient acyl-acceptant monomer for the synthesis of wholly aromatic polyketones. The polyketones derived from acyl-acceptant monomer 2a show excellent solubility to organic solvents and sufficient heat-resistibility.
