Zusammenfassung: | This study presents a modified compact tension specimen, which can be used for investigating residual stress relaxation in engineering materials subjected to fatigue or cyclic loading. The specimen incorporates a circular hole at the notch tip where maximum residual stresses are introduced once it is subjected to an overload. Elastic-plastic finite element analysis is utilized for residual stress estimation. Also, the study presents residual stress relaxation results for three specimens subjected to different overload levels. (Author) |
