Zusammenfassung:The authors have proposed and investigated new types of face-gear drives for application in transmissions, particularly, in helicopter transmissions. The new geometry differs from the existing by application of asymmetric profiles and double-crowned pinion of the drive. The paper covers computerized design, simulation of meshing and contact, and stress analysis by finite element method. Computer programs for this purpose have been developed. The investigation is illustrated with numerical examples.
