Zusammenfassung:In this study, the optimal characterization of the minimax cylinder estimation problem is presented. The complexity of the optimal solution procedure is shown to be O( n 6), where n is the number of sampled boundary points. Hence, an iterative cyclic coordinate procedure is also developed to provide near-optimal solutions. The cyclic coordinate algorithm has been tested and the results of several test problems are provided.
