High field Mossbauer spectroscopy on manganese-substituted Fe sub 3 N
High field Mossbauer experiments are reported for (Fe sub 1-x Mn sub x ) sub 3 N and compared with results of ASW bandstructure calculations. Depending on the local (FeMn) environment ferro- and antiferromagnetic exchange interactions are present, leading to a strongly inhomogeneous magnetic order.
