Long‐term precautions after endoscopic ultrasound‐guided transmural drainage for pancreatic fluid collection

Highlight After treatment of walled‐off necrosis, a pigtail plastic stent was placed in the fistula to prevent recurrence. Two years later, barium used in routine upper gastrointestinal radiography leaked into the residual cavity of the walled‐off necrosis. Tonozuka and colleagues conclude that an indwelling pigtail plastic stent provides long‐term drainage, but requires precautions.
