The use of electrostatic systems to paint plastic parts can increase productivity, enhance quality and help meet environmental regulations. A typical system has a 3-5 stage cleaning station followed by a good dryer. First coat primer provides the conductivity so second stages can use the electrostatic system. Metallics must be done non electrostatically or the color will not match due to alignment of particles by the electrostatic charge.
