Tertiary survey by trauma nurse specialist at a paediatric trauma centre

Introduces a process by which the trauma nurse specialist performed a number of the tertiary surveys (NTS) at the paediatric trauma centre at Starship Children’s Hospital. Presents the results of a study comparing the rates of injuries detected by tertiary surveys before and after implementation of the NTS, and describes the NTS implementation process.
