Zusammenfassung:The paper deals with a kinetic study of the initiation of MMA polymerization by a bifunctional compound, phenylazoformamidoethyl 4-t-butylazo-4-cyanovalerate. The activation energy of the initiator thermal decomposition ( E d = 99.6 kJ/mol) was determined by gas chromatography. The reaction order and the overall activation energy of polymerization ( E = 88.4 kJ/mol) were established from dilatometric measurements.
