Effect of plasma screening on thermonuclear reaction rates

The enhancement of thermonuclear reaction rates due to the ion and electron screening effects is analysed (particularly, for the carbon burning and the 3α reaction) under the conditions appropriate to degenerate cores of white dwarfs and envelopes of neutron stars.
