Sampling and excitation of refractory solids with a theta pinch discharge designed as an atomic emission source
This discharge uses magnetic compression to produce high-temp. high-density plasmas, thus sampling and exciting refractory solids, both conductors and nonconductors; e.g, W, BN, and Al sub 2 O sub 3 ceramics.
