Nickel contribution to the magnetism of the Ni-Fe-V alloy

61Ni Mössbauer effect measurements have been performed on (Ni 0.594Fe 0.406) 0.841V 0.159 alloy and Ni metal at 4.2 K. The hyperfine magnetic field at 61Ni nuclei, H hf, in the alloy exhibits a distribution characterized by the average value H hf = 74.6(3.4) kOe and the second moment ≡ M 2 = 16.1(3....

Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:61Ni Mössbauer effect measurements have been performed on (Ni 0.594Fe 0.406) 0.841V 0.159 alloy and Ni metal at 4.2 K. The hyperfine magnetic field at 61Ni nuclei, H hf, in the alloy exhibits a distribution characterized by the average value H hf = 74.6(3.4) kOe and the second moment ≡ M 2 = 16.1(3.1) kOe. The non-zero value of H hf in the alloys is shown to imply the existence of the magnetic moment at Ni atoms, which is at variance with the environment effect model.
