Zusammenfassung:Associations of maternal fasting, 1-h, and 2-h 75-g OGTT values with primary study outcomes birth weight above the 90th percentile for gestational age, primary cesarean delivery, clinically diagnosed neonatal hypoglycemia, and cordblood serum C-peptide above the 90th percentile were continuous. The data from the HAPO Study became the primary basis for the development of pregnancy outcome-based GDM criteria by the International Association of Diabetic Pregnancy Study Groups in 2010 (3), which have been incorporated into practice in many, but not all, parts of the world. Because of the change from requiring 1 instead of 2 increased glucose values, use of these new criteria has increased the prevalence of GDM, consistent with the worldwide epidemic of obesity and type 2 diabetes.
