An in-depth analysis identifies two new independent signals in 11q23.3 associated with vitiligo in the Chinese Han population

Highlights • Three SNPs (rs613791, rs523604, rs638893) showed significant association with vitiligo in the study in Han Chinese population. • Previously reported SNP rs638893 was replicated, two newly identified SNPs (rs613791 and rs523604) were all independent of the reported SNP rs638893, and they...

Zusammenfassung:Highlights • Three SNPs (rs613791, rs523604, rs638893) showed significant association with vitiligo in the study in Han Chinese population. • Previously reported SNP rs638893 was replicated, two newly identified SNPs (rs613791 and rs523604) were all independent of the reported SNP rs638893, and they were also independent of each other. • SNP rs523604 and rs613791 are located in CXCR5, and CXCR5 is crucial for follicular helper T cells (Tfh), which plays a key role in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases.
