Therefore, determination of water quality of Porsuk Stream has a great importance for the health of ecosystems in the region. In this study, water samples were collected from 18 stations located on the Porsuk Stream and some important physicochemical parameters (temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbitidy, salinity, conductivity, ammonium nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, sulphate, total phosphorus, biochemical oxygen demand and chemical oxygen demand) were investigated in order to determine the water quality of Porsuk Stream. Obtained data were evaluated by Geographic Information System (GIS) in order to make a visual explanation by presenting distribution maps of investigated parameters. As a result of this study, water of Porsuk Stream was determined as significantly inorganically and organically polluted on especially output stations of Kutahya and Eskisehir Provinces.Original Abstract: Porsuk Cayi, Kutahya ve Eskisehir il sinirlarindan gecerek Turkiye'nin onemli su potansiyellerinden biri olan Sakarya Nehri'ni besleyen ve her iki il icinde onemi tartisilmaz bir akarsudur. Ozellikle, Eskisehir iline kadar olan kisminin (Porsuk Baraji) icme ve kullanma suyu havzasi olmasi nedeni ile su kalite calismalari ve alinacak tedbirler bolgede bulunan ekosistemlerin sagligi acisindan buyuk onem arz etmektedir. Bu calismada, Porsuk Cayi'nin kaynagindan Sakarya Nehri'yle birlestigi yere kadar olan bolgeden secilen 18 istasyonun su orneklerinde bazi onemli fizikokimyasal parametreler (sicaklik, pH, iletkenlik, tuzluluk, cozunmus oksijen, bulaniklik, amonyum azotu, nitrit azotu, nitrat azotu, sulfat, toplam fosfor, biyokimyasal oksijen ihtiyaci, kimyasal oksijen ihtiyaci) arastirilmistir. Calisma alaninda olculen parametrelerin gorsel ozetlerinin etkili bir sekilde sunulabilmesi amaciyla Cografi Bilgi Sistemleri (CBS) kullanilarak dagilim haritalari olusturulmustur. Porsuk Cayi'nin kaynagi ile karsilastirildiginda, Kutahya ve Eskisehir illeri cikisinda yogun organik ve inorganik kirlilikten dolayi su kalitesinin dustugu ve kirlilik yukunun onemli derecede yukseldigi tespit edilmistir.
