Zusammenfassung: | Immobilized cultures of the green alga, Klebsormidium, were used in a biosensor system for air quality monitoring. Biosensor response was measured by reliance on several parameters obtained with the chlorophyll fluorescence technique. Biosensor response was tested with methanol and formaldehyde concentrations relevant to human health. The quantitative detection of methanol vapor was realized within minutes at concentrations of 75-350 ppm. Short-term detection of VOCs was demonstrated to be possible with this scheme. |
