The structural validity and internal consistency of the scale were also studied. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were also conducted. Results A total of 69 (54.8%) of the participants were male and the majority (72.2%) were &lt;40 years old. The exploratory factor analysis revealed a four‐factor scale: Leadership, Working environment, Motivating factors and Team spirit (Cronbach alpha: 0.71–0.88). These factors were not identical to the factors of the Finnish version of the scale. The four‐factor model created marginally fits the data and exhibits far better indices. Pearson correlation and intraclass correlation coefficient were near to 1, indicating the scale's high reliability. Conclusions The scale's properties were very satisfactory indicating that the scale is a reliable measure of job satisfaction. Implications for nursing management The Greek version of the Kuopio University Hospital Job Satisfaction Scale can be recommended to measure nurses’ job satisfaction in Cyprus and Greece.</description><identifier>ISSN: 0966-0429</identifier><identifier>EISSN: 1365-2834</identifier><identifier>DOI: 10.1111/jonm.12418</identifier><identifier>PMID: 27550236</identifier><language>eng</language><publisher>England: Hindawi Limited</publisher><subject>Adult ; Clinical Competence - standards ; Cyprus ; Female ; Greece ; Health Personnel - psychology ; Health Personnel - statistics &amp; numerical data ; Humans ; Job Satisfaction ; Leadership ; Male ; Middle Aged ; Nursing ; nursing staff ; Psychometrics - instrumentation ; Psychometrics - standards ; Reproducibility of Results ; Surveys and Questionnaires ; Translations ; work conditions ; Workload - psychology ; Workload - standards</subject><ispartof>Journal of nursing management, 2017-01, Vol.25 (1), p.13-21</ispartof><rights>2016 John Wiley &amp; Sons Ltd</rights><rights>2016 John Wiley &amp; Sons Ltd.</rights><rights>Copyright © 2017 John Wiley &amp; Sons Ltd</rights><lds50>peer_reviewed</lds50><oa>free_for_read</oa><woscitedreferencessubscribed>false</woscitedreferencessubscribed><citedby>FETCH-LOGICAL-c4268-eaa702fa3ff70f207f007bf3c57f3349f45bfc330582c465ec19e98dcb42afbb3</citedby><cites>FETCH-LOGICAL-c4268-eaa702fa3ff70f207f007bf3c57f3349f45bfc330582c465ec19e98dcb42afbb3</cites></display><links><openurl>$$Topenurl_article</openurl><openurlfulltext>$$Topenurlfull_article</openurlfulltext><thumbnail>$$Tsyndetics_thumb_exl</thumbnail><linktopdf>$$Uhttps://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1111%2Fjonm.12418$$EPDF$$P50$$Gwiley$$H</linktopdf><linktohtml>$$Uhttps://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111%2Fjonm.12418$$EHTML$$P50$$Gwiley$$H</linktohtml><link.rule.ids>314,780,784,1417,27924,27925,30999,45574,45575</link.rule.ids><backlink>$$Uhttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27550236$$D View this record in MEDLINE/PubMed$$Hfree_for_read</backlink></links><search><creatorcontrib>Sapountzi‐Krepia, Despina</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Zyga, Sofia</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Prezerakos, Panagiotis</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Malliarou, Maria</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Efstathiou, Chrystalla</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Christodoulou, Krystallo</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Charalambous, George</creatorcontrib><title>Kuopio University Hospital Job Satisfaction Scale (KUHJSS): its validation in the Greek language</title><title>Journal of nursing management</title><addtitle>J Nurs Manag</addtitle><description>Aim Τranslation and validation of the Kuopio University Hospital Job Satisfaction Scale.
