An unexpected route to aldehyde-decorated single-chain nanoparticles from azides

We disclose herein a new route towards the straightforward synthesis of aldehyde-decorated ultrafine single-chain nanoparticles based on microwave-assisted decomposition of azide-containing precursors in N , N -dimethylformamide (DMF) or N -methylpyrrolidone (NMP).
