Zusammenfassung: | The effective eddy diffusivity tensor is related to Lagrangian position statistics of a point tracer advected by an ensemble of turbulent flows. The flow may be compressible, nonstationary, and spatially inhomogeneous in a restricted sense. The spatial inhomogeneity is such that the cumulants of the Lagrangian position field depend linearly upon the coordinates, which may be curvilinear. The effective eddy diffusivities so determined cannot be used to predict the nondivergent part of the cross-gradient turbulent flux of a contaminant. |
