Hanocladius, a new orthoclad genus from China (Diptera: Chironomidae)

Hanocladius longipes gen. nov., sp. nov. from Oriental China is described from the male imago. The long metatarsus, the very broad, scale-like virga and the conspicuously scalpellate acrostichals distinguish the genus from all of the known genera in Orthocladiinae.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
