Zusammenfassung: | Credo Action created a petition targeting Google and Microsoft urging the corporations to distance themselves from the RNC so they did not "legitimize and normalize [Donald Trump]'s hate." While Microsoft still provided equipment, it backed off from giving cash contributions. This stands in contrast to the 2012 RNC as well as this year's Democratic National Convention, where it provided both cash and equipment. Trump's ranting against women, immigrants, people of color and Muslims divided his own party, and a number of Republican congressmen supporting the "Never Trump" movement chose to skip the convention as well. Credo Action's petition notes that if the convention was too volatile even for politicians, corporations had no reason to support it either. |
