Zusammenfassung: | Tracheal injury is uncommon in blunt thoracic trauma which may lead to subcutaneous emphysema and pneumomediastinum but rarely does it lead to tension pneumopericardium. We present a case of a 75-year-old female involved in a motor vehicle collision leading to multiple injuries including a tracheal injury associated with tension pneumopericardium seen on computed tomography. The patient underwent a pericardial window for decompression of her cardiac tamponade. |
