A Case Report of Isolated Pulmonary Valve Endocarditis

Laboratory data and blood culture showed sepsis and disseminated intravascular coagulation status caused by streptococcus dysgalactiae. To elucidate the cause of sepsis, trans-thoracic echocardiography performed and found a 18 mm sized vegetation on the pulmonary valve. Further examination of trans-esophageal echocardiography revealed no any other valve lesions and congenital heart disease. Antibiotics administration succeeded against infection, and he got well without cardiac surgery. Here we report a rare case of isolated pulmonary valve endocarditis found by echocardiography. |
