Contrast-enhanced ultrasonographic image of gangrenous gallbladder

Approval for this study was obtained from the ethical committee of our hospital. Doppler imaging confirmed the flow in the cholecystic artery at the neck of the gallbladder, but no blood flow within the gallbladder wall was observed, which was inconsistent with acute cholecystitis [2]. [...]CEUS using Sonazoid® (Daiichi-Sankyo, Tokyo, Japan) was performed to further assess the gallbladder vascularity, since CEUS is more sensitive in detecting the blood flow than non-enhanced color Doppler US [3].
