Preparation of a Monoclonal Antibody Specific to Chum Salmon Growth Hormone

We have prepared a monoclonal antibody (MAb) specific to chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) growth hormone (GH). The MAb only reacted with GH among pituitary hormones of chum salmon. Moreover, the MAb also reacted with GHs from coho salmon, chinook salmon, bonito, and tuna, but there are no cross-reactivity with GHs from other teleosts, elasmobranch, and tetrapods using in this study. In a non-competitive ELISA system using the MAb, the minimum measurable concentration of chum salmon GH was 20ng/well (approximately 1 pmol).
