An Introduction to Open-Path FT-IR Atmospheric Monitoring

Infrared spectroscopy is a reliable and versatile way to monitor multiple volatile organic compounds simultaneously. The use of infrared spectroscopy as a screening tool for detecting fugitive emissions and as a compliance tool for monitoring fence-line concentrations is discussed.
