Zusammenfassung: | This study examines aerosol deposition due to inertial impaction in simple changes of geometry, namely 90 degree bends, changes of cross-section and three-way junctions. Such geometries are typical of almost all piping systems though the particular interest here is with the cooling circuits of nuclear power plants. The objective is to perform comparisons using published models and experimental data for laminar and turbulent flows. A literature survey has been performed and the more relevant papers reviewed. Models and experiments have been compared using tables and graphs of total deposition efficiencies as a function of the particle Stokes number. |
