Pollen assemblages of two short cores were interpreted by analogy with the recent samples. The data provide information about the vegetational changes that have occurred since the first settlement, ca. 200 years ago. The presence of pollen types related to anthropogenic activities (Cupressus and Eucalyptus) allowed the identification of different use of soils in the area. Historical evidence supports the conclusion. |
