Zusammenfassung:► We studied liana dynamics and the effects of liana cutting on tree infestation and regeneration. ► Liana abundance and tree infestation increased in ten years in control plots. ► After ten years, a reduction in liana basal area and abundance was observed in cutting plots. ► Tree infestation was also reduced but trees with short trunks were rapidly re-infested. ► The treatment did not enhance tree sapling abundance but increased basal area of small trees.
