Extraction of semivolatile organic compounds from aqueous samples using high-density carbon dioxide and hollow fiber membrane module

A hollow fiber membrane module (HFM) was constructed that can be operated under high-pressure conditions using liquid carbon dioxide as the stripping phase during the extractions. Isolation of phenols from water was investigated using this method, and the results are discussed.
