Zusammenfassung: | This past year advances in the testing of vestibular function have improved our understanding of dizziness and balance dysfunction. An important study demonstrating the efficacy of vestibular rehabilitation emphasized dynamic posturography as an important prognostic factor and outcome measure. A technique for recording electrically evoked vestibular potentials is a promising new means for the intraoperative monitoring of vestibular nerve function. A modification of Jongkees' formula improved computation of a reduced caloric response. Noninteractive quizzing proved to be the best method of mental alerting during caloric testing. |
