Field Analysis of Color Cues That Elicit Territorial Behavior in the Garibaldi, Hypsypops rubicundus (Pomacentridae)

This study examined the seasonal (breeding vs. nonbreeding) value of orange and other colors as releasing stimuli for agonistic behavior. The study was initiated during one breeding season (June 1989) at Big Fisherman Cove, Santa Catalina Island, California.
