On Three Species of Muricidae and Columbellidae, Erroneously Described as Turridae

Examination of type material of Pleurotoma (Defrancia?) trifilosa E. A. Smith, 1882, Clavatula fimbriata Hinds, 1843, and Lienardia obockensis Jousseaume, 1888, demonstrates that these species were incorrectly referred to the family Turridae. P. trifilosa is a senior synonym of Columbella burnupi E. A. Smith, 1901, from Natal, and is transferred to genus Zafrona (family Columbellidae). Clavatula fimbriata is a senior synonym of Daphnellopsis lamellosa Schepman, 1913, and is transferred to genus Daphnellopsis (family Muricidae). Lienardia obockensis is provisionally regarded as a valid species of the genus Cronia (family Muricidae). Types of P. trifilosa and L. obockensis are figured for the first time.
