description A simple printed strip-monopole antenna suitable for wireless universal serial bus dongle application is presented. The proposed antenna, comprising a folded-strip radiator and a rectangle ground, has a compact size of only 10 x 37 mgr;m^sup 2^ and is capable of generating two resonances with good impedance matching conditions. Prototypes of the proposed antenna have been constructed and experimentally verified. Measured results, showing agreement with the numerical prediction, present not only good dual 10 dB impedance bandwidths of 270 MHz (2.25-2.52 GHz) and 840 MHz (5.02-5.86 GHz) simultaneously covering the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN operating bands, but also good radiation patterns and antenna gains.
