description The wastewater treatment by stabilization wastewater pond is a method which is applicable in most countries where conditions are favorable. Technologies stabilization lagoon has not made enough progress in Africa despite increased risk of health diseases linked to the bad management of sewage. In this study the dimensioned profile of the main collector area based on population density or pipes was chosen according to the flow rates and head losses whose minimum diameters of sewage are secondary network (200 mm) and tertiary network (150mm). From the total wastewater flow and permissible load, the ponds were dimensioned with the potential of valorization in three series of pond which are aerobic - anaerobic, facultative pond and maturation pond that allowed the removal of BOD equal to 221.84 kg/ha/day at 70% and faecal coliform removal of 99.99%. The retention time is up to 20 days for each pond. Wastewater treatment by stabilization wastewater pond is an alternative method that should be promoted for the African continent through financing existing for maintenance pools and optimization studies for better performance taking into account the climatic conditions appropriate for Africa.
