The morphological expression of imposex in Hinia reticulata (Gastropoda : Buccinidae) : a potential indicator of tributyltin pollution

Specimens from the prosobranch Hinia reticulata collected along the coast of Brittany and Normandy in France from 1988-91 exhibited imposex (occurrence of male parts in addition to the female genital duct) in response to tributyltin pollution. The development of imposex is discussed.
