Exploration into and Reflection upon Wushu Research in the Context of Cultural Awareness

Modernization has expanded the value of sport, science and culture in Chinese Wushu. The present Wushu research in the context of cultural awareness should focus on the cultural individuality of Wushu, expecting a breakthrough on the schools of boxing. The research should present the cultural meaning of schools of boxing via the description of "inborn and acquitted health, three sections and four ends, Qi and strength". As for its cultural individuality, it should seek the logic start of Wushu by reverse approach and study the technical origin and development by exploring into specific Wushu masters and the cultural ecology of certain school of boxing. Concerning the theoretical system study on schools of boxing, it should examine the "name and actuality" relation of schools of boxing, investigate their histories of "technical skills in attack and defense, routines in choreography, laws in philosophy and classification in boxing" and probe into the cultural mystery of weapons in various schools of boxing.
