Discusses the sources, both written and iconographic, related to the 15th-century polyptych altarpiece from the Galleria Sabaudia (Savoy Gallery) in Turin depicting the saints Pancras of Rome (at the center), Simeon and John the Baptist (to the left), and Ponzio and Honoratus (to the right). Comments on the attribution to the work to the Italian Renaissance artist known as the Maestro del polittico di Boston (Master of the Boston polyptych). Addresses the painter's depiction of some of the saints as warriors, three of whom hold swords in their hands.
