Zusammenfassung:	We have found it useful to review the present knowledge of the safety of some industrial microorganisms that are or are likely to become hosts for the construction of production strains by gene technology. In a previous publication, the safety of Bacillus subtilis and B. amyloliquefaciens and some safety aspects of recombinant microorganisms in general were reviewed. In this paper we review the safety aspects of the industrial use of Aspergillus oryzae .
