Zusammenfassung: | Sawdust, a waste product of the timber industry, has the potential to be used as an agricultural amendment. In a study of this application, a mix of Eucalyptus sawdust and soil was found to lower the chlorophyll content as well as the growth of wheat seedlings. A treatment with urea and Volvariella volvaceae reversed this trend. This combination also increased the bulb and foliage biomass of onions. The microbial treatment of this industrial waste product offers benefits for soil conditioning pending further research. |
