Zusammenfassung:	Ascospore germination and appressorium formation were examined in Cyclaneusma minus, Lirula macrospora Lirula sp., Lophodermium arundinaceum, L. juniperinum, L. piceae, L. pini-excelsae, L. pinastri, L. seditiosum and Meloderma desmazieresii. All species except C. minus formed appressoria after 12–24 h incubation. Sizes and forms of appressoria are typical and specific for each species, and can be used as an additional morphological character for identification. Observations and possible reasons for disturbance of ascospore germination and failures in single spore isolations are discussed.
