Methyl chloride and methylene chloride incineration in a catalytically stabilized thermal combustor

Both methyl chloride and methylene chloride can be incinerated efficiently in a catalytically stabilized thermal combustor. Combustion effectiveness was shown to be beyond the detection limits (greater than 99.994%) using a 5-ms catalytic section residence time. Both a platinum and a mixed chromium/...

Zusammenfassung:Both methyl chloride and methylene chloride can be incinerated efficiently in a catalytically stabilized thermal combustor. Combustion effectiveness was shown to be beyond the detection limits (greater than 99.994%) using a 5-ms catalytic section residence time. Both a platinum and a mixed chromium/cobalt oxide catalyst were tested with the chromium/cobalt catalyst yielding the most desirable results.
