Zusammenfassung: | A detailed electron backscattering analysis in Si(Li) detectors was done in order to evaluate the response function of the Mini-Orange Spectrometer. The analysis was performed via Monte Carlo simulations and by measuring the energy and the angular dependencies without and with the insertion of the Mini-Orange Spectrometer in the detection system, combining data taken with a continuous β− source (90Sr) with those from discrete electron transitions of an electron conversion source (207Bi).
A simple but accurate method is described to determine the transmission function T(E) of the Mini-Orange.
•We analyze electron backscattering in Si(Li) detectors.•We evaluate the response function of a Mini-Orange Spectrometer.•We perform Monte Carlo simulations and measure MOS energy and angular dependencies.•Data are taken with a continuous source combined with a discrete conversion source.•An accurate method is described to determine the transmission of a Mini-Orange. |
