Influence of Germination Delay on Callus Induction from Shoot Meristems of Barley ( Hordeum vulgare L.) Embryos

Callus was induced from the meristematic tissue at the base of the plumula of germinating embryos when the root apex became visible but before roots penetrated the coleorhiza. Callus induction is negatively affected by the degree of dormancy of the barley embryos.
