description This paper focuses on the new media practices of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) in search of an alternative media due to its low level of representation on the mainstream media. In the context of 2011 general elections, MHP delegates' use of Twitter is observed based on the hypothesis that Web 2.0 contributes to the development of citizenship culture sustained by democratic participation. This study explores in the first phase the major findings from the use of the sample MHP Twitter accounts through quantitative and qualitative levels of analysis. The second phase examines the accounts in macro and micro levels of content analysis through provided samples.
