Zusammenfassung: | Electrochemical energy storage and conversion technologies may soon play key roles in helping utilities provide low-cost power to consumers despite rapidly rising fuel costs. Integrating technologies such as battery energy storage and fuel cell power generation into utility grids will improve the economics of electricity generation and distribution. The use of hydrocarbon fuels will also be reduced. Fuel cell generators offer the potential of being able to generate electricity from coal at efficiencies greater than conventional steam-generating plants. |
